These days, I've taken to wearing red lipstick to boost morale...even though no one can see it under the mask. I march to work and wonder why some people get to stay home and others have to put their lives on the line. Having only one job now leaves me lots of free time. When I'm home alone I keep busy, working and writing, wearing a green silk robe and of course, red lipstick. It makes me feel alive. I watch free films I've found in trash piles on the streets, old movies about the war. People lived and died for a better world, but have we really got one?
We need to grow victory gardens not to win the war, but to feed our communities. We must rebuild the broken and bombed-out buildings into safe housing for everyone. We need to drop parcels of support, resources and knowledge to those in need. Time is running out to fix these problems. Do we really want to spend the end of the world fighting? Furthermore, we need to go greener. It is time to start living deliberately, doing more with less, only using what we truly need. We need to each take as much personal responsibility as we can to be self-sufficient. Grow our own food, generate our own power, and take care of each other. We can live on love and feast on food for thought.
We know what kind of world we're fighting for. We're fighting for the kind of world in which we can live together in happiness and peace and love. Don't ever think about quitting. Don't ever stop for a minute...working, fighting, praying until we've got them, for your children...for the whole human race. Days without end. Amen.
