Le Roman De Renard was the first stop-motion animated film ever. Created by filmmaker Ladislas Starevich in the 1930s, this was Fantastic Mr. fox before Wes Anderson. The story follows the legend of medieval Renard the Fox, who is always getting into mischief and causing problems for the fellow creatures. We are adding this remarkable movie to the list of the 44 Forest Films. In fact, one could call it the first forest film. It's that iconic.
