You will need: Spinach linguine noodles, pesto, fresh basil leaves, and hemp hearts. The hemp hearts are packed with protein and make an excellent substitute for Parmesan cheese. If you grow an herb garden, you will always have access to fresh basil. The herb can then be made into pesto. Check out The Forest's recipe for pesto here.
Boil salted water until it bubbles, bubbles, toils and troubles into a tempest! Then, add the noodles. Keep in mind that very fine pastas, like fettuccine, will wilt if boiled too long. This particular brand needed only a quick 1-3 minute dip in the waters!
Drain the pasta and allow to dry patting with napkins if necessary. Then, add pesto sauce and stir. Add a little olive oil if you need to. Sometimes I add seeds to spinach pasta pesto such as pumpkin or sunflower. Top it all off with the hemp hearts and garnish with a basil leaf.
